Steps to Delete a Story on Facebook
- Go to the Stories section at the top of your Feed.
- Click Your Story, which is located between Create story and stories from your friends.
- Select the photo or video you want to delete.
- Tap on the three-dot menu icon and then click Story Options in the top right corner.
- Select Delete Photo or Delete Video. Facebook will ask you to confirm the deletion. Click on Delete to finish removing your story.
Once you delete a story on Facebook, it will also be removed from Messenger. Any modifications made to your story will sync across both platforms. Deleting a Story on Facebook App
- Log in to your Facebook account.
- Go to Your Story, located between Create story and stories from your friends.
- Tap on the three-dot menu icon.

Deleting a Story on the Website
- On your home page, you will see a line of stories right above your timeline.
- Click on Your story which you want to delete.
- Select the three-dot menu icon and then click on Delete photo.

Important Notes
- If you delete your story, it won’t be archived unless you manually archive it.
- Changes made to your story will reflect on both Facebook and Messenger.
- You can mute someone else’s story if you don’t want to see it in your Stories section.
- There is no hard limit on how many stories you can post or how often, but since a story only lasts for 24 hours, you should probably opt for quality and good timing (early afternoon is best) over sheer quantity to get your message out.
Managing Your Story Archive

You can add a link to a personal story, but it will not be clickable by the viewer.
